Series to Watch Out For #4: Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou is a manga released in Comic Ryu magazine. The series is currently 12 volumes long. The 12th volume released on April 13, 2017.

Here is the synopsis from Seven Seas: "What do world governments do when they learn that fantastical beings are not merely fiction, but flesh and blood-not to mention feather, hoof, and fang? Why, they create new regulations, of course, like the Interspecies Cultural Exchange Accord!

When twenty-something Kurusu Kimihito becomes an involuntary “volunteer” in the government homestay program for monster girls, his world is turned upside down. A lamia named Miia is sent to live with him, and it’s Kimihito’s job to make sure the sexy snake girl integrates into everyday life. While cold-blooded Miia is hot for Kimihito, the penalties for interspecies breeding are dire. Even worse, when a buxom centaur girl, and a scantily-clad harpy move into Kimihito’s house, what’s a full-blooded young man with raging hormones to do?"

Usually, this is where I talk about why I think a harem end is likely and give examples from the series that lead me to that conclusion, but for Monster Musume it's nothing more than a gut feeling. Polygamy isn't legal, the girls haven't agreed to share, and they aren't all one being that split themselves into multiple people, but I still think this series will get a harem end. So instead I'm going to be making a prediction on how I think the series will end.

At the beginning of the series, it was illegal for Darling to put his hands on the girls. Then they wanted him to pick a girl to marry as a test case for a monster girl human marriage. I think by the end of the series they will have legalized polygamy. I don't know the reason, and it doesn't really matter, but they'll probably use Japan's declining birth rate as an excuse. I think the series will end with Ms. Smith informing the cast that polygamy has become legal, or, preferably, with a wedding similar to what we saw in the anime's opening.

Now for who I think will end up in Darlings harem in the end. I think the harem will contain Miia, Cerea, Papi, Suu, Mero, Rachnera, Lala, Manako, Tio, Zombina, Doppel and Ms. Smith. Depending on what happens in the future more girls could make into the harem, but I think these 12 girls will definitely end up with Darling.

That's my prediction for the series. Nothing too out there, but I genuinely believe the series will end like that. It will be fun coming back to this post once the manga ends to see how close, or how off I was.
